Halloween

Last night I got all dressed up to go to a party. I had made my dress especially for the occasion, and I took ages doing my hair and makeup. Sorry to disappoint though Mum, this is what I looked like... Well it was a Halloween party!

Zoooombie!

So this evening I got dressed up for an evening out. This attire was not conventional though...

Sooo cooooool!

We have a shed! And it only took us 3 and a half hours! How awesome is that! I realise there is an overabundance of exclamation marks in this post, but I think they are warranted.

Shedded up

Today is all about the shed.

It was delivered on Monday, still in bits of course, and has been cluttering up the utility room since then. In the evenings I've been painting the parts I can reach with wood preservative, but it's a slow process cos there's barely room to swing a cat in the utility room, even when there isn't a shed in it!

This afternoon Alanah and I are going to (attempt to) build it. I've studied the instructions, naturally, and assembled all the necessary tools. All I need now is for the weather to stay fair and for Alanah to hold bits while I drill and hammer and probably swear a lot! I'm looking forward to it. I see it as just a mammoth sized jigsaw puzzle.

More photos to come...

Table building shannanigans

Well this evening I was overcome by the urge to participate in DIY! (Think I'm being brain-washed) anyway due to Anthony coming round today, the house is starting to take shape and felt inspired to contribute and therefore built the flatpack table that will be going in my room as a dressing table. I am very proud to report that this is the first flatpack item that I have built without messing it up annnd I used all the screws provided, normally there are some left and I just hope it doesn't fall apart!

Storage a-plenty

How fab are these cupboards in Alanah's room? They were just put up today by Anthony the odd job man. I think they'll be very handy for storing all of Alanah's rubbish, I mean belongings...

Rubber ducks

These little guys were gifts, 2 from Alanah's granny and one from my Mum. They haven't had a proper home until now, but they look very comfortable on the new shelves in the bathroom!

Is it a ladder, is it a shelf...

What a bargain! This cool ladder shelf normally costs 120 and I got it for 23! I love it!

Hello there!

A few weeks ago Alanah and I (Andrea) painted this awesome triptych of a poppy. Since this is the first objet created by the two of us, it deserves a place in this blog, even if it's not exactly news. It will eventually be going on my bedroom wall but for now it lives in the kitchen until the paint dries.
And here's a photo of Alanah in a very fetching outfit. Well, we were using oil paints so I suppose it was a sensible precaution. Not.

Welcome...to doooom

Hello minions....and mum.

We have decided to write this blog as I (Alanah) have moved to Englandshire to live with my amazing cousin Sheldon...oops I mean Andrea!

Our intention is that this online blog, hopefully will be easily accessible by everyone...including the wrinklies (with some step by step guides) and therefore you can all have a wee nosey at what we have been up to.

Hope you enjoy reading about our whacky activities and day-to-day life!

Love always,

Alandreah.
